TAPS LATINO MURAL
TAPS Latino follows in the footsteps of Wendy Ewald’s work by exploring the complexities of a Southern Latino identity through a process-oriented program designed to build a diverse, intergenerational creative community. Everyone shared and participated in a series of concrete art projects the question of who we are, where we come from, how we see ourselves individually and/or collecively and what kind of customs and practices were common among the group.
We met almost every Sunday, from September, 2023 to June 2024. This year-long commitment was essential to counter the usual short-term, one-hit wonder workshop offered to Latino students, a in our minds, was never long enough to create. the conditions for a sustainable public art oriented creative Latino community.
